Visa Interview -Details

Had my first ever (many more to come :) )Visa interview yesterday...Here is how it went…

I was very much tensed regarding the procedures. It was scheduled for 08:00 hrs. I reached the US Embassy (Chennai) well ahead of time, @ 7.15 itself accompanied by my dad. A long queue was waiting outside... Corporate executives and others, all in formals… Felt very excited seeing the old people with hunch @ their back waiting for the interview… :) :)

A security guard guided me to keep all the required docs to be ready for the verification procedure. I finished all the verification procedures @ the entrance, and headed to the main door. It was a very big and heavy door with caution “Heavy door, A little care can avoid accidents”… :( :(

Felt nervous @ every stage….
We were asked to take the respective seats…After 10 minutes I was asked to proceed to one of the counters. As I watched others who were going through the proceedings; I could see that only their documents were being verified and it was not an actual interview.

Very soon it was my turn. I greeted the lady with a smile and handed over my documents and passport to her. She verified all the details and asked me to go to the interview venue, which was in the next building…

Hmmm… I was relaxed a bit as the first phase was over. I reached the next building, the exact place where I was to be interviewed.

I had no problem joining the BEP counter. And there came my turn again, I felt as if this was my ‘D’ day… :( :(

Making myself relaxed, I reached for the counter. The interviewer greeted me and asked for my docs and passport. I could hear the commotion @ the other counters asking various questions…
He verified all my docs, took my finger print impressions and asked few questions which I was able to answer very easily without any nervousness.
At last he wished me Happy & Safe journey, and informed me that the passport will be returned back to me after the stamping process in a few days….

Felt relaxed, happy, excited, a mixture of all feelings and I returned back to where my dad was waiting for me, and informed him the good news….

He hugged me and congratulated me for my success.

Returned back home happily…on the way back home I called up my mom, and all my friends who were waiting for the results… (And I bunked my office too and had a nice day of sleep :) )

It is what exactly one feels about visa interview. Can I copy paste this to my blog? Or is there any copyright for that blog? ;)
