Year 2006 that was ...

Really memorable :)

Incidents this year... A flashback....

To start off...

Let me go back a year... to Jan 1st 2006. (Back to the good old days…)

Yes. The year was welcomed with a good mood... wishing friends... relatives and everyone... to start with... day 1 of 2006, I invited my friends for a small treat in my house... yes as usual all the arrangements were going on smoothly. I helped my mom in getting things ready for lunch...My friends arrived on time as promised… Had a delicious lunch (me, my parents and my friends)... a real good one prepared by my mom who is very good in making chicken biriyani...

Me, my younger brother and my friends were taking snaps along with my relatives... as the time went on from dawn to dusk... my friends were getting ready to go back home. But they were waiting for my father who had left home after lunch for a trip to a temple somewhere far away ...Oops! I don't remember that place exactly...

As the clock started ticking 8... I was little tensed as why my dad hasn't returned...

So thought of making a call to one of his friends’ cell phone... in the first call my dad’s voice was normal informing me that he will reach within few minutes. But since he didn't return in the specified time, I called him back again. But this time his tone was little bit feeble... not sure what the exact scenario was, I thought of waiting until he returned back...

After half an hour... the doorbell rang... As expected it was my dad. My friends were waiting for him as it was getting them late for them... But then came the shock… My dad was whispering something to my mom in the kitchen. Hearing the murmur I reached the kitchen and understood that my dad had met with an accident on the way back home and he had been to hospital for the first aid and that was the reason for his delay to reach... When I found that he was hurt... I couldn't control my tears fighting with each other to roll down... By Gods grace he was not injured except for some scratches. He was telling that my mom saved him mutlab (I mean…) the wedding ring with my mom's name inscribed in it saved his finger from major injuries...

So there it goes... start of the year with a bad end of day... :-( My friends consoled my dad (and obviously me too, because i was that upset) and left home.

We were bit upset to happen this way on the start of the year, as we always have superstitious beliefs followed with these kinds of incidents. We ignored all that and refreshed ourselves positively. Thankfully, my dad recovered in a couple of days.

Following all these will be happy things to be posted really...

After a period of 6 months say in June... I was looking for a job change since I was working for a small concern and very less paid. I was on the way back to my home @ 8.30 from office in PTC (41 D) bus from alwarpet when I got a call from a MNC asking me to come for an interview the next day... I was taken for surprise by the call since I had just forwarded my resume to one of my friends working there and since I didn't get a call for two days, I thought that I was not short listed. Regaining back the lost energy in traveling, I informed my parents regarding the interview. They supported me a lot in getting all things ready for the interview.

The next day with great zeal I started for the interview and to inform happily I cleared it and was asked to join immediately after two weeks time. But basically till the moment of the interview I was very nervous, since naturally, I hit a low self-esteem. But that gave me a new life. I was given a very good offer comparatively three times more than my previous salary. Returned back home happily, excited what else to say... as if I had achieved something very great. But of course, it was great, since the package was a mixture of all - a good compensation, brand name (as it is an MNC), just 10 minutes from the house I m staying now.... what more to achieve... But I had lot of problems in getting my relieving letter from my previous company. ...Those discussions Offline plz...:-) Joined my new concern and got into a very good team.

We once went on a three trip to Kerala (God’s Own Country) from our ODC (Offshore Development Center). Here are some of the snaps taken. (@ http://anupictures.blogspot.com/2006/12/elephant-yard.html) And of course we had lot of project parties and meetings outside our office campus. The other good news is that my Visa processing was done during this year... Refer to my post Visa Interview details.... for this @ http://anusankar.blogspot.com/2006/11/visa-interview-details.html

This year I was able to succeed in one of my biggest ambition also ... That was to buy a house for my parents here in Chennai. We have bought a house recently and the construction is going on. Will move to our new house in April 2007 probably... On the whole year 2006 was good for me in all ways except for day1 of Jan...

Wishing and inviting the next year 2007 with great enthu....

I know this is quite a long one. But to wrap up a years incident in short is something I can’t help much....

Wishing all "Merry Christmas & Happy New Year"

Meetings – Last week ...

Last Friday we had an All hands meeting organized @ Green Park vadapalani with our folks from Onsite…during the course of the meeting we were appreciated well for our performance for the last major release of our project…

Added to that we had a Farewell party for our SPM on the very same day…so after winding up the All Hands meeting we hurried to the other restaurant where we had arranged for the farewell party…

That was in Ambica Empire vadapalani, just 10 min walk from Green Park, and we ladies of our team hired an auto and reached there in time. My teammates were busy writing wordings in the card…and me as always wish to be unique; was waiting for others to finish their writings. And at last I wrote my wishes for her in a uniball pen of orange color, which was distinct from others…Hmmm a small bit of happiness was flowing within me… :)

We reached the hall, which we had booked for the farewell. Of course it was well decorated. Our SPM was late for not more than 5 min as she was very busy, since she has to fly to Singapore to settle down with her husband there, the very next day…

As usual the memento presentations were over…Finished our lunch, had fun pulling each other to sing and dance…And at last there were words from our SPM for our betterment in our career life…Wished her … and started back to office…

The whole day was over; when we reached the office after the meeting followed by the Farewell party…

Yes!!! How come we work further on that day, as it was weekend?

So waited for half an hour checking mails …Started home happily… :)

Oops!!! no snaps to post now… :(

Better in future…
